Karen comes to us having started her career as the director of marketing at a well-known fashion retailer on the East Coast. She later entered the education profession working as a business professor at a prestigious university in New England. There, she eventually earned her tenure and a position as Assistant Department Chair. For several years, she served as a key member of the MBA admissions committee. Since then, she has been consulting prospective MBA students through Academode. As part of her efforts, several first-generation college students and other nontraditional students have been able to enter into elite graduate school programs. She specializes in helping students understand the programs to which they are applying and “sell themselves.” This is a result of her understanding of not only the academic expectations of these programs but also of the school culture. She credits her marketing background for this ability as well as her experience as an educator.
